Hello, SSASE Ladies, and welcome to 2015! I hope everybody had fantastic holidays! Mine was pretty relaxed, full of time with family and friends, and lots of quality time with the Mister. It was so exciting to wake up together on Christmas morning in our new home for our first Christmas living together! I know, I know, I'm totally cheesy, but that kind of thing totally gets to me! What were your favorite things about your holidays this year?
Besides the holiday cheer, the cold weather has also brought challenges for me. I'm sure you've noticed a slow down here on SSASE.net. (I mean, you DO check it every day, right?) Unfortunately, a knee injury I sustained in the spring and have had issues with ever since has been exacerbated by the cold. I spent the months of November and December in constant pain, which brought me to tears most days. To put it mildly, all of my energy was completely drained by this. So, my apologies for lack of updates here, but I was at a barely functioning level. Luckily, over the holidays I was able to rest a lot (aka was forced to rest by a certain gentleman!) and I'm doing much better now. It's still not 100%, but at least I'm able to make it through the day now and actually get stuff done! Sadly, my bad knee definitely has caused issues in some important areas in my life. Kneeling to put my collar on (or for other reasons)? Nope. Certain sex positions? Nope. All those cute heels? Gathering dust in my closet. I'm still figuring out what works for me to deal with this issue in my relationship. Has anyone else dealt with something similar? Any good tips or advice?
And now we have arrived in January! It's a time many of us make resolutions or create goals to help us achieve the future we'd like. What resolutions and goals have you created for yourself? The Mister and I have a joint goal of focusing on our financial health this year, as a stepping stone for some very special goals we would like to be ready for in the next few years. Besides finances, I've set goals pertaining to many other areas of my life- now I just need to follow through! If you're in the same boat as me, come join us at our Goal Setting class on 1/18- SSASE Ladies deserve success in 2015!
This month starts the beginning of new and exciting things for SSASE. You'll be seeing more frequent updates here on the website, with some great new features. We will also be unveiling some awesome ways for our non-NYC community members to feel connected, including discussion forums and podcasts. We also have new SSASE chapters popping up- if you're interested in SSASE in your area, please get in touch! We have some great events planned for this year, including our SSASEversary Celebration! That's right, our baby is turning 1 year old! Thank you all for making it an amazing first year!
One other piece of news to share before signing off: SSASE has chosen the Carter/Johnson Leather Library as our 2015 Charity of the Year. Throughout the year, donation jars will be available at SSASE events, and we will also be holding events to raise funds for their organization. To learn more about their mission and to donate directly through their site, check out www.leatherlibrary.org. We are excited to help out such a valuable resource for the kink community!
Looking forward to a great year! -Victoria
